Sweetheart Home Tour
Tour begins at the May-Stringer House Museum
$15.00 donation, food included
The tour includes the Lovelace Home, also known as the St. Anthony Catholic Church built in 1908. The home boasts the original stained glass windows, and it’s warmth and beauty will be a delight. A wine tasting, presented by Brooksville’s own Brookstone Wines will be on site.
Guests will then be treated to a tour of Saxon Manor, currently owned by Mr. and Mrs. Stevens. The Manor house was built in 1876 by Frank Saxon for his bride Tulula Hope. The tour will enable you to see the loving process of restoring a historic home.
After the tour, you will be treated to a specially prepared dessert while you enjoy a short lecture entitled “The Language of the Fan.” Victoria Jimmerson, dressed in period costume, will delight you as she demonstrates the Victorian art of the fan. Fans will also be available for purchase for your special someone. All proceeds generated from this tour will fund historical state markers designating the Chocachatti Prairie as a significant historical landmark. You may reserve your ticket by calling 813-470-0085. Spaces are limited, so please respond quickly to this “Sweetheart of a Tour.”
